The Journey of a Lifetime
Ryan and I have decided to pursue our forth adoption and add another beautiful baby to our family. We couldn't be happier and are thrilled! Join us in our journey in adopting baby Schlenner!
Ok, so they were ALL Sleeping Beauty this year...just happened to work out like that! I seriously did not even plan it. We have a whole walk-in closet that's strickly dress-up clothes. And every year the girls go in the closet and decide what they're going to be because we have every dress imaginable...complete is accessories to boot!!! Gabriella and Jocelyn dressed as Sleeping Beauties and Lil' Ms. Ahnya wore an older model of the Sleeping Beauty dress that was one of the girls years prior.
Nana and Bumpa came and spent the day with us, too, which was especially helpful!!! Nana and I took the girls around in the wagon and it was a beautiful night to be outside. We ended the night with watching the Gophers and the girls loved handing candy out to the kids who came to the door!
Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!
Horray!!!!!!!!!!!!! The girls are over the sickies and the flu bug is gone for now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just in time for Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's Ahnya playing with Jocelyn's Korean baby doll!
.................................smoochie poochie..................................................................
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahnya is feeling great after surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A picture says a million words and this one I my favorite of the day!
Ok, first off...I am still keeping it all together. I'm proud of myself for not losing it!!!
Jocelyn got sick in the middle of the week...probably Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. She woke with high fevers and cough. So, basically everyone is either sick or recovering in my household! I, knock on wood, am healthy and feeling perfect. Lacking coffee, showers, and some workouts...but keeping the house together and spirits high for the sickies.
On Wednesday, October 28th we had our day in court to finalize Ahnya's adoption. It's just a formality, because she's already legally ours and forever, but the US government still wants us to recognize the adoption and have a court hearing.
Judge Bush handled the hearing and actually was our presiding judge in the last two adoptions with Gabriella and Jocelyn. So it was an easy and no stress appointment.
Ahnya was feeling good after have surgery 24 hours prior...but then again, I knew she would be find for the hearing because that's just the kind of baby she is! Always happy, smiley and looking for someone to play with!
I wish Gabriella and Jocelyn would have been well enough to come...but they were both home sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a week we've had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Tuesday, October 27th lil' Ms. Ahnya had surgery to put tubes in her ears, remove adnoids, and have an unexpected surgery on her tongue. Initially, the surgery was for tubes and adnoids-but the dr. found that she was "tongue tied" so fixed that and hopefully she'll start talking one of these days!
This pic is before surgery. Ahnya is in her hospital gown and a little ticked that she can't have a bottle. We were at the hospital at 7:00 a.m.
Here's poopsie before the nurse carried her away to the surgical room.
Daddy holding Ahnya after surgery. Ahnya was away for a little over an hour. When she came back she was crying and still floating on meds. Oh, Ryan's watching ESPN....he has a devistated look-but it's completely unrelated to Ahnya!
.........................Thank goodness it's all done! Now she'll be walking and talking in no time!!!!
I swear her cheeks and smoochie poochie lips got bigger in surgery, too! I hope they didn't do botox.
Accidents happen...and today was not a good day for middle sister Jocelyn. Daddy was pushing Gabriella and Jocelyn on the glider this afternoon when he pushed a little TOO hard and sent Jocelyn flying off into the evergreens!
I immediately knew something was wrong or dislocated because she couldn't move her shoulder and was crying buckets of tears!!!!!!!!
After two hours in the ER and some x-rays later...turns out she broke her clavical. She's in terrible pain and has to wear a very tight back and shoulder brace to keep her clavical from moving around. Supposidly, the bone will grow back in 2-3 weeks and then more x-rays to see if it was healed and then the brace can come off.
So for now, she's completely reliant on Ryan and I dressing her, going potty, helping her up and helping her down, etc. Nothing we can't handle but poor Ryan feels terrible for the accident on the swing.
Prayers and hugs to little Jojo's recovery!
My lovie, Kirstie, took some family photos this past week...and it was really cold out! The photos look great and you can tell that the fall "chill" in the air is a real sign that winter is just around the corner!!! We froze our buns off taking photos. Thanks Kirstie for the beautiful photos!!!!!!!
